Music Event Featuring Two Bands. 'love Square' & the Fourtune Quartet' Bringing You an Evening of World-class Music

'The Fourtune Quartet' is Toby Barrett's new group featuring Tyler Diprose on bass, Miles Boermans on Piano/keys and Finn Mc Neill on Drums. Many of you will have seen Toby and Tyler in the 'Toby and the Rest' quartet who have played several times at Lopdell. They will be bringing you the first half of the evening's music with a mix of arrangements of standards and some original compositions from award winning sax player Toby Barrett. (Playing from 7-30pm)

'Love Square' will be on stage for the second half (around 8-45pm) and they are, 'Finn Scholes (piano/brass/percussion) Finn is the head of the amazing 'Carnivorous Plant Society ' band, Alistair Deverick will be on drums and sometimes trombone !! he is the talented son of one of our regular Flicks film fans and an extremely well travelled drummer who has done his time with Neil Finn and Lawrence Arabia . Leading the trio is Nick Atkinson who seems to be able to play any instrument but will be mainly on Saxophone (s) and clarinet. Nick (Supergroove, Hopetoun Brown, Come Together horns) describes his trio Love Square as a musical magic carpet. (Playing from 8-45pm approx) "The three of us write and choose tunes that excite us rhythmically and tonally. In many ways we're taking you on a global musical journey taking in the highlands of Bolivia and Columbia, the islands of Jamaica and St Marten and many African nations that inform our feels and melodies".
