Stratigraphy is the study of the different layers of soil and sediment in the ground. It is used in geology & archaeology. An archaeologist will slowly dig down through these layers of soil to look for artefacts. As a rule, the deeper they dig, the farther back in time they go.
Come and create your own stratigraphy jar this Archaeology Week!
We do have some washed and dried jars available to use but if you could bring your own empty, clean glass jar we would be grateful.
