Local musical talent, Fergus Byett returns to play piano at the Midday Concert on Friday 12th along with musical colleague and vocalist, Isabella Reid. Fergus and Isabella were winners in the postgraduate and undergraduate Bach Competitions respectively at the University of Waikato in 2023 and have been coupled to perform a combined concert in Auckland and Taupō.
They will perform a combination of musical items that include: Debussy’s ‘Estampes’ and ‘L'âme évaporée’, from Deux Romances; ‘Silent Moon’ by Ralph Vaughan Williams; the familiar ‘Ave Maria’ by Gomez; Frédéric Chopin’s ‘Barcarolle in F-sharp Major’ and ‘Die Mainacht’ by Brahms. Everyone is welcome.
