Sassafras is based in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They are a bluegrass band who pays homage to the Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs era, but also enjoys pushing the edge of progressive Newgrass music as well. Their repertoire includes a range of musical styles including Ole-time, Country, Folk, Western Swing and originals. Members are Wes Tuttle, Randy Gambill, Gray Tuttle & Randy Pasley.
Sassafras have performed on stage at festivals and venues nationally and internationally and have a wealth of experience that has seen them play alongside a wide range of prominent Bluegrass and Americana artists including Mason Via from Old Crow Medicine Show and Mike Rogers from Ricky Skaggs and The Kentucky Thunder (amongst many others).
They have toured festivals and venues from throughout the United States to the AGEC Bluegrass Festival in France, Didmarton Bluegrass Festival in England and the Guglinger Bluegrass Festival in Germany – to name a few!
These humble, gracious and unassuming Bluegrass professionals know how to put on a show and keep an audience entertained and engaged with a beautiful range of music.
