The Taranaki Classical Guitar Summer School (TCGSS) held biennially, is a not-for-profit-family-friendly event celebrating the classical guitar community of New Zealand. This event has its roots firmly in Taranaki and the uniqueness of the region has played an important role in bringing back participants and the international tutors who have come from all around the world. This speaks volumes about the dedication and passion of these professionals, the reputation and quality of the week long event and how important this is for all students and families attending from all over NZ and Australia.

At the end of the Summer School the (TCGSS) hold a one off combined concert event, featuring all the students involved in the school and the international Artists.
This year they are holding this event here at the 4th Wall and dedicating the ticket revenue to the Taranaki Health Foundation to support the Taranaki Cancer Care Centre currently under construction at Base Hospital.

100% of donations to Taranaki Health Foundation go to projects that enhance healthcare services in our region. The Taranaki Cancer Care Centre will be a stand-alone facility that will provide haematology, chemotherapy and radiotherapy all under one roof – reducing the need for patients to travel to Palmerston North.

Peter Doublinszki - Mesmerising and accomplished international musician

Niki Todesco - Brooklyn based guitarist, composer and vocalist

Simon Powis - Talented soloist, chamber musician and innovator

Contra Guitar Duo - Opposing yet complementary performers with the contrast and synchronicity of two guitars

Raffles will be held on the day, All donations gratefully accepted on the day or you can donate via the online booking link when you purchase your tickets.

Come and celebrate the training and dedication these students have put into their craft during the week and the outstanding musicianship of the International Artists.
