Rock Painting Sessions - January 10th and 18th
Come and rock on with us in a world where every pebble becomes a palette, and your imagination is the only limit.
Immerse yourself in the world of geology in our Mim Ringer Gallery Exhibition, and unleash your creativity onto nature's canvases – rocks waiting to be transformed into vibrant works of art for you to take home.

Two sessions: 10.30am - midday and 1pm - 2pm

Nature Walk & Create - January 11th and 17th
Join us for a guided nature discovery walk through areas of Kiwi North's Heritage Park seldom seen.
Collect nature's treasures along the way then unleash your creativity to transform your gathered objects into unique pieces of art.
Remember to put on your sunblock, hat and bring a water bottle.
Free with general admission
Two sessions: 11.15am and 1.15pm


Teddy Bear Picnic - January 12th and 24th
Join us at Kiwi North's Heritage Park these school holidays for a Teddy Bears' Picnic!
Bring your snacks and your favourite Teddy, enjoy story-time then make a portrait of your cuddly friend.
You may also wish to take Teddy on a train ride as the Heritage Park rides will be running on both dates.
Remember to put on your sunblock, hat and bring a water bottle.
Gold coin donation, all craft materials provided
11am - midday
Location: Heritage Park, 500 SH14, Maunu, Whangārei - Gate 2. Find the picnic on the Village Green adjacent to the Clarke Homestead.
Does not include entry to Kiwi House and Museum.



Have Your Say Community Day - Monday 15th January
It’s our mission at Kiwi North to connect our communities through the experiences and stories of the people, places, treasures, and natural worlds' and you are our community!
We want to understand what experiences you want to have and stories you want to be told.
Come along to our ‘Have your Say’ Community Day and get half price entry for Whangarei District residents. Yes! Participate in the surveys and onsite engagement with team members across our site and we’ll give residents half price entry and put you in the prize draw as our way of saying thanks!



Invertebrate Explorer Workshops - January 19th and 25th
Immerse yourself in the Extraordinary World of Invertebrates: A Workshop for Curious Kids!
Calling all emerging explorers and creature enthusiasts. Are you ready to unlock the secrets of the most abundant creatures on earth? Then get ready to wriggle, scurry and slither your way into the incredible world of invertebrates.
In this workshop you will become an invertebrate detective, meet magnificent minibeasts, uncover their superpowers, build an invertebrate home and take home your very own Invertebrate Explorer Kit to keep exploring in your own backyard.
Remember to put on your sunblock, hat and bring a water bottle.
Bookings are essential for this workshop.
Cost: $20 for workshop only* Includes take home Explorer Kit.
Adults free with each paying child.

Heritage Clubs Rides and Activities - January 10th, 17th and 24th
Many of the Heritage Clubs in the Kiwi North Heritage Park will be opening their doors on Wednesdays during January, offering a range rides and interactive activities for all the family. Ride the diesel train, tram, miniature railway and tractor and enjoy activities with the Whangārei Rock and Gemstone Club from 10am - 2pm. All rides will also be operating on Sunday, January 21st.
