Carlos Santana Cancels Christchurch Show

Tuesday 8 March 2011

Due to the recent disastrous earthquake in Christchurch, it is with deep regret that Chugg Entertainment announces that the forthcoming Santana show, scheduled to take place at CBS Canterbury Arena on Tuesday 22 March will be cancelled.  Santana's performance at Auckland's Vector Arena on Sunday 20 March will go ahead as planned.
“We send our thoughts to the people of Christchurch in this difficult time and Santana hopes to return to the city in the near future,” Michael Chugg said.
“While I live a long way from Christchurch, I have been a resident of San Francisco and I understand the power of an earthquake,” Carlos Santana said.  “It’s still so hard to comprehend the tragedy that has happened there.  The images I saw on television made me feel both grief and helplessness.  So many people have been affected.  I hope that everyone will do their part to help in whatever way they can to help.  My thoughts are with all people affected in Christchurch by the earthquake.  I am looking to return under better times.”
“Santana is making a donation to the Earthquake relief,” Michael Vrionis of Universal Tone Management for Santana said. “We encourage anyone who can help to do so.”
Patrons who have purchased tickets for the Christchurch show via credit card will be automatically refunded.  Those patrons who purchase tickets at a Ticketek outlet will need to return their tickets to their point of purchase for a refund.
