Angus and Julia Stone Auckland Concert
Australia's Angus & Julia Stone are coming to Auckland to play a gig in support of their forthcoming third album. It will be their first time performing in New Zealand.

The band will showcase many of their most recognised and well-loved tracks, including some from their 2010 album Down the Way, the album that saw them win five ARIA awards, and was the highest-selling album by an Australian artist for that year.

The brother-sister duo worked with legendary producer Rick Rubin on their follow-up to Down the Way, who encouraged them to get back in the studio together after they had each been working as solo artists recently.

Vancouver Sleep Clinic, the musical project of 18 year old Brisbanite Tim Bettinson will be the opening act for the Powerstation concert.

PRESS RELEASE: Angus & Julia Stone are set to bring their critically acclaimed live show to New Zealand this September. The forthcoming tour will see the band perform many of their most recognized and well-loved tracks, along with exciting new material from the soon to be released third album produced by Rick Rubin.

Angus & Julia have had very successful careers both as a duo and more recently, independently as solo artists.

It was the legendary US producer Rick Rubin (Jay Z, Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash etc) who being a fan and familiar with their musical history, suggested they get together once more as a band. Angus and Julia spent time writing and recording at Rubin’s Shangri La Studios in Malibu and the result is their brilliant, forthcoming album “Angus & Julia Stone”.

This September sees the band take to the live stage for the first time in New Zealand playing one of the the nation's most iconic venues The Powerstation.

Joining them will be the blogosphere’s most talked about act of 2013, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, aka 18 year old Brisbanite Tim Bettinson, who released his debut EP earlier this year to rave reviews.  Described as a combination of soaring falsetto vocals built upon progressive synthetic instrumentation to create an ambient base for a vessel of emotional connections to be made.
