Reggae By The River just got meatier with two more favourites added to the bill. The Kora Brothers powerhouse incarnation L.A.B and award-winning Pacific reggae masters Three Houses Down will be joining NZ musical heavyweights, Trinity Roots, The Black Seeds and Tomorrow People.
Three Houses Down took out this year’s Vodafone Pacific People’s Choice Best Pacific Artist by a well-deserved landslide as the 10-piece band is known for stellar live performances. They fuse Polynesian-inspired vocal harmonies, catchy brass lines, a driving rhythm section and uplifting lyrics – then rearrange them into something truly original and exciting with just the right dose of pop appeal.
L.A.B is being touted as the ‘next big thing’. Comprised of the popular Kora brothers Brad and Stu, plus talented jazz guitarist Joel Shadbolt and Sunshine Sound System’s Kyle Popham (KP), festival-goers should expect high energy electronica meets hard rock, soul and blues.
Reggae By The River is now a regular feature in the Taupo summer season. Last year over 2,500 locals and tourists enjoyed the great kiwi music and chilled-out family atmosphere within the beautiful location of Riverside Park.
Gates will open at 4pm and the event is family-friendly with children 12yrs and under able to attend free of charge with a paying adult. A range of food and beverages will be available on site, you may bring sealed water and non-commercial food.
