Adam and Queen are back in New Zealand

Three years ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Queen and Adam Lambert concert with my father, who is possibly one of the biggest Queen fans there is. Given his love for the band and Freddie, I grew up listening to the records on repeat, and at age 5 was belting out Queen songs like a mini Freddie myself. Both of us didn’t hold high expectations for the show back in 2014, as too often we’ve been disappointed with wannabe-Freddies and we end up spending the night cringing as our favourite songs are ruined.

However (total plot twist), the Queen and Adam Lambert concert in 2014 blew our expectations completely – and I mean completely. Queen played impeccably and we were met with Adam’s insane vocal capability and charisma that was his own… flamboyant in the Freddy way, but not trying to impersonate the legend that was Freddie Mercury.

The show was energetic and fun, flamboyant and yet heartfelt. Adam commanded presence but also knew when to allow Brian May to step forward and hold the fort. The two balanced each other and made the experience what we would genuinely describe as utterly fantastic.

Announced earlier this month, Adam and Queen are back in New Zealand and without a doubt my father and I are attending again (because you can never get enough of those killer ballads… they simply don’t make ‘em like that anymore). If you missed out on tickets or if you were hesitant for all the same reasons my dad and I were, TEG Live and Dainty have now announced a second show today! ‘If you snooze you loose’ isn’t a line you can use here. You can ensure you don’t miss out on having an awesome time, rocking out to good old Queen and the mighty Adam Lambert in February 2018. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
