Katy Perry hits New Zealand for her Witness: The Tour next year

Calling all Katycats! Gear up for the return of global pop superstar Katy Perry as she brings her 'Witness: The Tour' to Auckland this August, playing two back-to-back shows.

Katy was last on our shores in 2014. She then played two Auckland arena shows that were instant sell-outs. Before landing to NZ this 2018, she will first be heading to Australia for shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

Paul Dainty, President and CEO of TEG Dainty promoted Katy's 2014 Australasian tour and said today, "The response we received from the 2014 tour was phenomenal with Katy performing a staggering 25 shows across Australia and New Zealand. Katy is one of the most powerful entertainers in the world and I am delighted to be promoting her 2018 tour."

Witness: The Tour is an imaginative trip from outer-space to inner-space, from the planets to the bottom of our oceans, and a musical journey through Katy Perry's biggest milestones and mega-hits right up to her latest album. The singles released thus far—the Gold-certified 'Chained to the Rhythm' featuring Skip Marley, 'Bon Appétit' featuring Migos and the new single 'Swish Swish' featuring Nicki Minaj—hint at the breadth of the musical and thematic elements found on Witness.

The dramatically original staging means that there isn't a bad seat in the house, when Katy brings out her band and dancers, along with all the bells and whistles. With Witness, Katy finds liberation, in the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that inspire both thought and movement.

Katy made her EMI Music debut with 2008's 'One of the Boys' after signing to the label in 2007. She has secured her status as a global superstar with the follow-up album, 'Teenage Dream' (2010). Her 2013 'Prism' album debuted at no. 1 on iTunes in 100 countries and has sold more than 12.5 million adjusted albums worldwide. With the singles 'Firework' and 'Dark Horse' each surpassing the 10 million threshold including song sales and streams, Katy is the first female artist to earn two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards.

'Bon Appétit' is officially Katy's fastest viewed music video of all time with 14.2 million views in the first 24 hours and has now exceeded 190 million. Featuring Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos, was co-written by Katy, Max Martin, Shellback, Oscar Holter, Ferras Alqaisi and Migos.

Witness: The Tour will be Katy's first concerts since the sold-out, 151-date Prismatic World Tour, which was hailed by Rolling Stone as "a show to damage retinas and blow minds".

"Sensory explosion that never lets up… every song is a hit, and every song feels like an encore... the lighting show is the best New Zealand has seen in the past five years, and the production surpasses most other megastars." - NZ Herald

In her 10 years with Capitol, she has racked up a cumulative 18+ billion streams alongside worldwide sales of more than 40 million adjusted albums and over 125 million tracks. Katy Perry recently became the first person on the planet to reach 100 million twitter followers. In New Zealand, Katy has enjoyed 9 x no. 1 singles and 4 x top 5 singles. Her singles have achieved 31 x Platinum status in New Zealand with additional 4 x Gold singles.

Brace yourselves for some eye-popping and mind-blowing performances from global pop superstar Katy Perry in August 2018.
