The UK-born virtuoso and multi-talented instrumentalist Jacob Collier is about to make his much-awaited debut in New Zealand, bringing his highly-anticipated 'Djesse' tour to Auckland's Powerstation and Wellington's The Opera House this September.
The 24-year old prodigy has been dubbed as one of the most innovative, creative musicians of his generation—breaking onto the music scene through his viral, homemade, multi-track YouTube videos. Following his 2016's chart-topping and award-winning debut album 'In My Room', Jacob will perform songs from his latest offering 'Djesse Vol. 1' and yet-to-be released album 'Djesse Vol. 2'. These are the first two volumes of his four-album cycle that features a global cast of musical inspirations—stretching the boundaries of music to unprecedented levels.
Jacob Collier's latest 'Djesse' tour scales up the concepts behind his original one-man-show. He is now aiming to incorporate a band of multi-talented performers, playing over 30 acoustic and electronic instruments. All these instruments are linked together that allows elements of each to interact with a staggering array of sounds and textures.
Jacob also sends messages to a custom-designed lighting system—resulting in a tightly synchronised visual experience that accompanies his live looping and custom-built harmony setting. All of these provide a new and uniquely "Jacobian" experience—a mix of human and technological elements, with the ultimate goal of bringing together as many people as possible through his incredible music.

Jacob Collier has collaborated with Hans Zimmer and Herbie Hancock, has played alongside Pharrell Williams at 'Coachella' 2017 and has performed a TED Talk and a BBC Proms concert. He's also composed music for Dreamworks' animated film 'Boss Baby', has commissioned as an arranger for bands and orchestras worldwide, and has taught masterclasses during his global tours.
