'Queer Eye' star Jonathan Van Ness is setting foot on NZ soil for the first time in February next year as part of his first ever world tour, 'Road to Beijing'. Armed with his fun and vibrant stand-up acts, he is gearing up to play two amazing shows at Auckland's The Civic and Christchurch Town Hall. After his NZ dates, he will head to Australia and perform a series of shows happening at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Perth's Riverside Theatre, and International Convention Centre Sydney.
The 'Road To Beijing' tour was all inspired by Jonathan's ongoing attempt (and lifelong obsession) to become a figure-skating prodigy—just in time for the 2022 Olympic cycle in Beijing! His much-awaiting Kiwi fans will see him bring his unstoppable energy onstage with what promises to be an unforgettable live comedy tour—serving cirque-du-so-gay-realness between stand-up sets that are so good, your face will be in need of a massage from all the smiling.
Apart from his fabulous live performances, Jonathan can also be seen starring on Netflix's Emmy Award-winning reboot series 'Queer Eye'—where he shines as the show's groomer, hair guru and self-care advocate. In addition to this, he has also starred on the 2013's acclaimed show 'Gay of Thrones (Funny or Die)'—with the series having just wrapped up this May, garnering Emmy nominations in 2016 and 2018 for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series. Jonathan continues to work on his acclaimed podcast 'Getting Curious'—a weekly exploration of all the things he is curious about. The podcast was listed as one of the Top Podcasts of 2018 by Time Magazine, and recently won the iHeart Radio Award for Best LGBTQ Podcast. Most recently, Jonathan has announced that his revelatory memoir 'Over The Top' will be released on September 24, 2019.
