Kendrick Lamar – The Damn. Tour

Having recently toured across the UK and Europe, multi-award winning hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar is now set to make a comeback in NZ, playing Dunedin and Auckland this July in celebration of his latest album 'Damn.'.

After bringing the Kiwi crowd onto their feet, Kendrick will then be performing at 2018's 'Splendour in the Grass' festival in Byron Bay.

Kendrick Lamar's fourth studio album 'Damn.' solidified his standing as one of the world's greatest artists. Featuring huge singles 'Loyalty' (feat. Rihanna), 'Love' (feat. Zacari) and 'Humble.', Pitchfork called 'Damn.', "a widescreen masterpiece of rap", with The Guardian saying it's "brilliant, sharp-edged storytelling from an artist at the top of his game."

'Damn.' became Kendrick’s third album to surpass one million album sales in the US (joining 'To Pimp A Butterfly' and 'good kid, m.A.A.d city') and earned him a staggering five Grammy Award wins from a total of seven nominations.

The 'Damn.' tour features a set list taken from Kendrick's multi-platinum selling catalogue, including 'good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012)' featuring 'Swimming Pools (Drank)' and 'Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe'; 'To Pimp A Butterfly (2015)' featuring 'King Kunta', 'Alright' and 'i' and compilation album 'untitled unmastered'.

Fresh off the back of his sophomore album 'November', Californian neo-soul singer SiR will play his first ever Kiwi show, joining the bill as Kendrick’s support. Starting out in music co-writing material for the likes of Ginuwine, Jill Scott and the legendary Stevie Wonder, SiR, aka Sir Darryl Farris, creates soulful R&B in the style of Frank Ocean and Anderson Paak.

Kendrick is once again riding high on the NZ charts with his no. 2 smash hit soundtrack album 'Black Panther: The Album' and his famous collaborations with SZA ('All the Stars') and The Weeknd ('Pray for Me'). Apart from his music dominance, Kendrick made history earlier this year, becoming the first ever artist to take out the prestigious Pulitzer Prize award for music. With 13 billion Spotify streams, 12 Grammy Awards and over six million album sales worldwide under his belt, Kendrick Lamar has an incredible reach that surpasses many of his peers.

Kendrick Lamar was named one of the '100 Most Influential People' in the world by TIME Magazine and in the 'Best 10 Rappers Of All Time' by Billboard, amongst other accolades. During his US tour last year, Kendrick has produced the well-curated soundtrack for Marvel Studios blockbuster 'Black Panther', featuring his stellar collabs with SZA, Travis Scott, Future and The Weeknd.
