The Bay of Islands Walking Weekend 2022

The Bay of Islands Walking Weekend has a huge variety of walks. We walk many of the islands and remote spots on the peninsula that are hard to access as individuals – the walking weekend makes it cost effective and hassle free. Travelling out to these islands on a launch or the tall ship R Tucker Thompson is a fantastic experience in itself.
The walks are spectacular with breath taking scenery, amazing flora and fauna, but also very rich in history and culture, you are walking in footsteps of some of the first explorers to arrive in New Zealand. We have night time kiwi walks, overnight stay out at Cape Brett, kayaking and walking, cycling and walking, three vineyard walks and many of our walks incorporate great food and settings. You can walk from 2km to 21km. Something for everyone!
The event is in its 9th year and has many repeat walkers which speaks volumes in itself - being on many walkers annual “must do” list.
Our guides are all passionate and knowledgeable about the Bay of Islands area and bring something extra to the walking experience. Each walk has no more than 20 people, so get it quick. Our HQ is the Russell Bowling Club where people can meet, chat about their day and have something to eat and drink.
Russell is a fantastic base for the weekend with lots of great restaurants, places to stay and for the non-walkers out there. We are very excited about this weekend and the great walking experiences there are here in the Bay of Islands. Time to get your walking boots out of the cupboard and join us in the Bay of Islands.
