Ferrymead Heritage Park Church

Ferrymead Heritage Park is a superb location for your wedding day, providing exciting venues for your ceremony, photographs and reception within the tranquil precincts of its historic location.

Our delightful little church in its cameo setting was built 100 years ago in Ellesmere where it was the hub of the local community. It was moved onto this site and restored but it retains that special intimate and enfolding atmosphere of a little country church, where couples can take their vows surrounded by family and friends and then stroll down the wide main street to the replica lodge for their ‘Wedding Breakfast’ where there are modern facilities within.

The church holds 80 people using the existing pews but we can add up to 20 extra seats if required.

Wedding parties can choose to arrive by the Wedding Tram suitably decorated for the occasion. The tram will bring the guests to the church then make a special trip for the bride and her attendants.

You may like to decorate the church to suit your own special tastes or you are welcome to use our topiary trees and floral decorations if you prefer. There is a restored pipe organ and we can put you in touch with an organist, or you may like to bring your own stereo or musicians.

The church is yours for the day and we are happy for you to use your own flair and originality in decorating it, provided it is returned to its normal state at the end of the day.

The village with its cute Edwardian buildings and museums makes a unique backdrop for your wedding photos and invites imaginative and creative photography amongst the treasures of yesteryear. Just a stones throw from the church is the Friendly Society Lodge, a relatively new building designed in heritage style which can cater for a wedding reception if you choose.
