The Farm

The Farm is a 1000 acre dairy farm on the Whangaruru Harbour just a short drive from Russell & The Bay of Islands. For the past 10 years backpackers, wwoofers, holiday makers, schools, motorbike fanatics, horse lovers, family & friends have been coming to spend quality time experiencing what life on 'the farm' is all about.

A great place for working, socializing with the extended family, relaxing, reading a good book in a hammock, animal watching, mountain climbing, sunset walks through the country side, peruse a magazine or check your emails in our comfortable hostel living room, enjoy a night in front of the campfire, adventures; day at the beach, horse lessons or treks, motorbiking for all levels - learners to the professionals.

We are only a few minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches and awesome fishing, surf & dive sites in New Zealand. Why not take your surf board or fishing rod and head to the beach, or perhaps do a dive course with our neighbours "Northland Dive", then explore the wreck of the HMNZ Canterbury.

We have one cottage with two double rooms (one with ensuite), four sweet petite cabins (singles & doubles), on-site vans and carpark and plenty of room for camping where you can pitch your own tent.

For groups that want a bit more privacy or want to make some noise, our rustic "back to basics" Wool shed (dorm/bunk rooms sleep approx 20-30 people).
