The Make Cafe

At The Make Cafe, our motto is ‘come hoping, leave inspired’: it is our mission to provide people with the inspiration, motivation and materials necessary to unlock their creative potential and help them to create beautiful handmade items.

As a craft emporium, we stock a variety of contemporary fabrics from all around the world, as well as a large range of tools, haberdashery and notions. Everything you need to get creative!

At our Christchurch base, we also have a coffee shop in store serving a delicious array of homemade sweet and savoury foods as well as New Zealand’s own Hummingbird Coffee. All in all, a great place to lose the hubby while you explore the fabric shelves next door!

We are very passionate about sharing skills and passing on knowledge, something we try to do on a daily basis in our workshops and short courses. Ours tutors are experienced in a wide array of different disciplines and we are constantly striving to offer an ever changing and expanding schedule of classes.
