Alofagia: Le Opera is a multisensory experience, featuring the powerful voices of internationally-renowned tenor brothers, Pene and Amitai Pati, and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay – of Sol3 Mio. The trio will premiere an original composition by Poulima Salima this February, with guest artists and local community members.

Directed by award-winning Anapela Polata’ivao, choreographed by Tupua Tigafua, and with costume design by Lindah Lepou, Alofagia: Le Opera is set to be a mesmerising Pacific opera.

“Alofagia: Le Opera is an uplifting theatre experience, drawing on ancient Samoan truths and echoing a time when Gods governed,” explains Polata’ivao. “It is a unique theatre event, traversing the realms of a re-imagined ancient Samoa, through a ceremony of pesepesega (singing), projection and movement.”

This is the second production to be staged by TAPA (Tautua Aiga of Performance Art) in association with Nathan Homestead, as part of their annual Summer Theatre in the Gardens programme.

The historic Nathan Homestead and surrounding gardens make for a beautiful night out under the stars, and an opportunity for all to celebrate the rich talent of South Auckland. With limited seats and three shows only, tickets are sure to sell fast.

Alofagia: Le Opera is a unique, new work that promotes Pacific creatives and aims to be a source of inspiration and encourage a sense of pride in the Pacific community. Proudly brought to you by Auckland Council and Nathan Homestead, a community arts facility supported by the Manurewa Local Board.
