In celebration of 'world piano day' (the 88th day of the year), Amélie of Palmy is convening a community piano recital.

Focused on the piano works by Yann Tiersen featured in the film Amélie, the concert will also include other French music. We will announce interesting and relevant film information in relation to each piece. Entry by donation towards event expenses.

Pianists:
To participate in the concert, please contact us via messenger or email (amelieofpalmy@gmail.com) for scores or to propose other French works of 3-7 mins duration. We will receive first-come-first-served offers to play at the recital up until Fri 1 March.

Other instruments/singers:
Please contact us via messenger or email (amelieofpalmy@gmail.com) if you have an interest in being involved.

All Amélie of Palmy events include a photobooth, film quiz and the encouragement to create new works for our collective photo book. While you don't have to have seen the film to take part in AOP activities, it certainly helps! If you don't have your own personal copy, citylibrary.pncc.govt.nz holds a copy for lending or various sites online still sell the DVD.

'Amélie of Palmy' is a community project for lovers and yet-to-be lovers of the French hit film Amélie (2001). A series of creative events connecting aspects of the film to Palmerston North will lead us to a birthday celebration on Sat 1 June. Bienvenue!
