Make yourself the greatest sustainable bag of all time, using plastic bags.

The white and grey bag is made from 35 supermarket bags.
The stripy pink bag is made from 55 coloured plastic bags.
All those bags are saved from landfill or the ocean.

Belinda Hope of Blendy Knits will take you through the steps to create PLARN (PLastic yARN) from your plastic bags. Then you can start making a bag from various design options, in your choice of knit or crochet (you must already know how to do basic stitches in one of these crafts).

What you need to bring:
- Some plastic bags. These can be soft plastic supermarket bags, or thicker plastic bags, or even old video tapes if you're Marie Kondo-ing and found a bunch (they'll be perfect).
- scissors
- a large crochet hook or knitting needles (approx 6-7mm) or you can buy them for $5 in the workshop

You can attend one workshop for free thanks to the Auckland Council Creative Communities Scheme, so come along and have a fun crafty time! Any additional workshops you decide to attend are $20 each.
