Get your beaks into craft, storytelling, and puppet shows – all with a nature and conservation focus.
Weka Wednesdays are a great time to hang out, make friends, and learn something new.

Critter Craft

Where - Ki hea: Te Whare Rakau - Treehouse, Te Taiao Nature
Ants, moths, spiders, butterflies, bees and more – there are all kinds of critters in Te Taiao - Nature! Come along and play with different materials and textures, shapes and tools to make your own bug or critter. A morning of making and doing. Drop in.

String Bean Puppets – Penguin and the Sea Monster
When - Āhea: Wed 30 Jul 2019, 11.00am–12.00pm.
Where - Ki hea: Te Papa Hui - The Backyard, Te Taiao Nature
Join String Bean Puppets (Anna Bailey) for a starry-eyed story about a little blue penguin who seeks help from the night sky when his friend is captured by a sea monster. Korora is terrified when he and his friend are attacked by a sea monster while in the ocean. The moon and stars give him the strength and confidence to go back and fight the monster and rescue his friend.
