Come and join a friendly, creative group of woman who are passionate about experimenting with fabrics. We have done textile printing, discharge, burning, dissolving, felting, boro stitching, up cycling and more.
We meet on the first Tuesday of every month. This month we are going to use fabrics as art and create a small stitched piece that can be framed or hung. We will learn about composition, tone, colour and concept. The inspiration is textile artists such as Jude Hill (her lovely spiritual work shown in the picture), Mandy Putallo (for those who like nostalgia), Junko Oki (for those who love Japanese boro stitching), Helen Terry (beautiful dyed fabrics), and Cas Holmes (for lovely layered work).
Bring in any scraps, threads, embellishments and maybe a small frame that can be used. A sewing machine and fusing fabrics will also be supplied. Call Kim on 021513093 for more details.
