Join us to celebrate the launch of Palmy's Plastic Pollution Challenge’s next strategic community-led initiative 'Arohatia Te Kawau'!

Come along to learn about the steps that are being taken at all levels here in Aotearoa to rethink our country’s relationship with plastic. Plus to hear about our vision for a Palmy with much less plastic in it, our community-developed strategy to achieve this and our action plan for the next 12 months.

The evening will be opened by Mayor Grant Smith and Rangitāne Kaumatua Wiremu Te Awe Awe and speakers include:

- Dr Rachel Chiaroni-Clarke – Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor
- Dr Heike Schiele - Co-Chairperson of Environment Network Manawatū
- Siobhan Karaitiana - Te Ao Turoa Environmental Centre - leading Te Kawau Stream ‘spring clean’

We will be sharing the full 'Arohatia Te Kawau' programme, including a top to bottom ‘spring clean’ of Te Kawau Stream, on the night. However, keep an eye on the events section of our Facebook page for more information.

Let’s all be a part of positive change here in Palmy in 2020!

This event is free to attend.

RSVP early to avoid disappointment!

Under COVID-19 Level 2, numbers to this event will be limited. Please RSVP to ensure that, if we remain at alert level 2, we are able to comply with government restrictions. The aim is to set up a zoom link under level 2 to ensure that everyone can enjoy the evening.
