Lucien Johnson Quartet

Lucien Johnson (tenor saxophone) is joined by some of New Zealand’s finest musicians: celebrated pianist Jonathan Crayford; and Tom Callwood, eminent double bassist Cory Champion on the drums.

Johnson’s compositions are reflective of places that he has lived and travelled to: France, Haiti, Ethiopia, France, and of course, our own NZ musical heritage. As a recent recipient of the Harriet Friedlander Residency year in New York, Johnson has returned to tour, and looks forward to sharing how diverse experiences can influence the music.
