What precious taonga do you have in your kāinga? Why are these items special to you? Many different things make taonga precious. As the keepers of some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most precious objects, National Library and Wellington Museum would like to share a special experience of how we collect, care for, and curate our local and national taonga.

Precious Taonga – Curator for the Day whānau programme will begin at Wellington Museum where we will explore our precious collection and discuss how we cherish taonga behind the scenes. A guided walking tour uncovering the taonga of the Wellington Waterfront will take you to National Library. There, explore Precious – The Exhibition, challenge yourself with our new Precious fun book and learn how to take care of your taonga.

Put your creative thinking hat on, come with your whānau, and become a Curator for the Day!

Bookings essential, RSVP over on our website. All ages. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
