Ben Fernandez is a professional pianist, composer, arranger and educator. He is presenting this solo piano concert especially for the local community and will play a selection of war time favourites and tunes we love. The tune ' It's a long way to Tipperary' was Ben's grandfather Michael Fernandez's favourite tune.
Ben is a classically trained jazz pianist, composer and arranger. He has a Masters Degree in Music majoring in Jazz performance from the University of Auckland. He also has degrees in Physics, Computer Science and Business Management. Ben gave up a successful career in Marketing and Advertising to make music a full time career choice. Ben has performed at concerts and events in over 25 countries and is an award-winning composer for jingles, TV shows and movies. Ben is currently composing music for a new musical that is due to be staged early next year. He has released 8 Albums of his music here in NZ and his music is available on iTunes, Spotify, etc . Ben is also an educator and teaches music at Pinehurst School, Rangitoto College, Rosmini College, Stella Maris School and St Mary's School.
