Stage hypnosis is where a hypnotist chooses volunteers from the audience, puts the volunteers into a trance using hypnosis, and then has them perform certain silly, funny, or supposedly “amazing” suggestions. Comedy hypnotists use hypnotic language and techniques to access their volunteers’ subconscious mind and magnify their imaginations, turning mild-mannered people into total extroverts – way outside their normal comfort zones, so the show looks very funny and entertaining.
