Maggie Cocco’s Science for Sociopaths is brave, vulnerable, and fierce.

Her neo-mellow songs stem from the lineage of America’s rich singer-songwriter culture while her dynamic vocals range in expression from powerhouse to Disney princess. Intimate solo piano arrangements allow the songwriting to take center stage. In performance, Maggie holds a room with a combination of sincere vulnerability and mesmerizing musicality.

Marla Jane NZ is an up-and-coming New Zealand artist with works created across a wide range of 2D media - such as acrylic paint, fine-line ink pens, chalk pastels and watercolour-based mediums. Marla's live painting for this project will be unplanned so as to channel the intrinsic emotion of the music in real time and incorporate contributions from the audience.

This show features a 10-song cycle detailing the course of a romantic relationship. Audience members will be invited to express themselves on the same canvas as the artist at intervals throughout the performance. The resultant artwork will be auctioned for charity.

This venue - the old deconsecrated church at Corban Estate - is wheelchair accessible, and audience members will be encouraged to participate to their comfort level using the variety of art composition materials provided, including but not limited to paint, brushes, sponges, stamps. Persons with concerns about accessibility can direct their questions to admin@maggiecoccomusic.com.

*Note: the venue will be carefully dressed in advance to avoid any painting accidents. Please have the same consideration for your clothes.
