Pergolesi Stabat Mater

An opportunity to hear Bianca Andrew & Joanna Foote sing the Stabat Mater by Pergolesi with string ensemble, conducted from the chamber organ by Douglas Mews and led by Anne Loeser.

The concert also includes other masterpieces of the Baroque.

This is a marvellous opportunity to see Bianca Andrew perform in Wellington while she is home in New Zealand to sing Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro with NZ Opera and before she returns to her position as a principal singer with Frankfurt Opera. Joanna Foote joins Bianca in the Pergolesi and she is also home from Europe and is singing Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro for NZ Opera.

The Stabat Mater is one of the greatest works of all time and St Mary of the Angels is the perfect atmospheric and sonorous venue for this work.
