Join us at the incredible Te Ara Awataha for a day in the bush, restoring native ecosystems and connecting local community to the land and stream!
Kaipātiki Project have teamed up with musician and environmental advocate, Jack Johnson, this month as an All at Once Non-Profit Partner for his tour in New Zealand. In recognition of this, we'll be playing some laid back, but thought-provoking Jack Johnson music in the background while we work this week!
Location: Jessie Tonar Scout Reserve, 21 Kaka Street, Northcote
When: 10 December 2022
Time: 10am - 12:30pm
Bring: Garden gloves if you have some, water, any food you may like to have with you and closed-toe footwear. All tools provided.
Restoration at Te Ara Awataha is an ongoing endeavour for Kaipātiki Project, where we host volunteers once a month, year round, to remove pest plants, trap pest animals and (in season) plant native trees. It has been part of a stream daylighting project, community green belt and zero waste initiative in Northcote.
Join us and meet the wonderful group of local volunteers who have been caring for and restoring this natural wonder each month, and learn about the cultural significance, the native ecosystems and the regeneration process from our expert restoration and community activators who lead the groups.
