Gina Hochstein is a University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning graduate, with a Master of Architecture (Professional) and Master of Heritage Conservation degree. She is now engaged in a PhD by creative practice exploring abstraction of gender within the domestic realm during modernism in Titirangi, West Auckland, as well as teaching design and managing master’s theses.

My research explores the physical manifestation of the relationship between architecture, jewellery, body and scale. The difference between modernist jewellery and modernist architecture is simply one of scale.

This exhibition establishes the parallel of modernist design in the miniature (jewellery) and modernist design in the macro (housing) in the liberal community of Titirangi in the 1960s and 1970s.

Join us as we open this exhibition on Friday 8 April from 6pm, Gina welcomes you to join her for a celebratory drink downstairs at Deco Eatery.

Artist talks will be held with details posted to our Facebook page.

The exhibition runs until 1 May 2022 and open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
