Community choir Kotaba Voices joins Wellington Museum for Takurua Hauora: Winter Wellness – a series of events promoting health and wellbeing.

Join us in Wellington Museum’s ground floor exhibition Te Whanganui-a-Tara for three FREE performances by the women’s choir this winter. Music and group singing do wonders for our wellbeing. Let their uplifting voices recharge your emotional batteries as they perform songs from different parts of the world.

About Kotaba Choir:

Kotaba is a word from Madagascar that expresses the exciting exclamation noises we make when people get together. Kotaba Voices is an all welcome, inclusive community choir for women of varied background, ages and singing abilities.

Directed by Lala Simpson, the women of Kotaba Choir are brought together by a love of singing and joy from creating harmonies and a community together. Offering a fun environment to learn vocal, rhythmic and performance skills, the group sings community songs from around the world about social justice, women’s rights and love for the earth.

Kotaba Voices rehearsals take place on Monday nights from 7 pm- 8:30 pm in the Garden Room at St Peter’s on Willis. New members welcome throughout the year. Contact oohlalamusic1@gmail.com for more info.
