Lada Between Two Worlds – stuck in between, torn apart.
Stuck in between, torn apart. The soul, the heart, the body slashed by half. Two lives: the one before and the one after. Two languages, two cultures. She is a migrant, she is an alien, she is a stoat.
Lada Between Two Words (junior, fantasy) started as a book about animal rights and the cruelty that introduced animals are facing. But over multiple drafts, it evolved into something so much deeper. It is a story that challenges good and bad, a story that explores perspectives. It also includes topics of Māori colonisation and dealing with NZ Immigration, with gentle hints that only adults could pick up on.
