Bach Choir of Wellington Presents Opera Gala

For their second concert of 2023, The Bach Choir of Wellington presents an Opera Gala on Saturday 12 August at 2pm at St. Andrew’s on the Terrace. The concert will feature the choir and guest soloists singing well-known and much loved opera choruses and arias – there is truly something in store for everyone in this cheerfully delightful programme.

The choir is joined by new and emerging opera stars and veterans of the stage including sopranos Laura Loach and Pepe Becker; mezzo-soprano Maaike Christie-Beekman; tenor Theo Moolenaar; and bass Roger Wilson.

Come enjoy something completely different from the Bach Choir with selections from The Bartered Bride, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, The Magic Flute, MacBeth, Pagliacci, Dido and Aeneas, Il trovatore, and La traviata.

The choir is under the direction of Shawn Michael Condon and accompanied by Douglas Mews on the piano.
