Brain-Watkins House Garden Party 2023

The Brain-Watkins Garden Party has been an annual Tauranga tradition since 1979, and is presented to you in its 44th year by the Tauranga Historical Society. Tickets available from Humanitix https://events.humanitix.com/brain-watkins-house-garden-party

This much-anticipated social event is an enjoyable opportunity to immerse oneself in the chic elegance of yesteryear, and will be held on Sunday, 5th November 2023 from 11am to 3pm, in the picturesque setting of Brain-Watkins House Museum and Heritage Garden (233 Cameron Road, Tauranga).

As well as a serious amount of bunting and fine china, there will be live music, free children’s activities, a Vintage Café, stallholders, and the Open House and Garden to visit.

Come help us invoke the vibrant and hospitable spirit of the original Brain family who started building this charming kauri villa in 1881 and made it their home until 1979. Bring along a fistful of fivers and have some fun!

Festive attire is encouraged and could include a theme from any of the eras that the Brain family were in residence; Victorian (1837-1901), Edwardian (1901-1914), the Roaring ‘20’s, Art Deco ‘30’s, Wartime ‘40’s, Rock’n’roll ‘50’s, the Swinging ‘60s and Disco ‘70s. Splendid hats are always a worthy addition!

All proceeds from the Garden Party go towards the upkeep of Brain-Watkins House Museum, a listed Category 2 Historic Place.
