Come learn hot glass sculpting or sculptural flameworking at our five-day Master Class with Grant and Erin Garmezy, two of the best glass sculpting teachers in the world.
Both Grant and Erin are accomplished artists and experienced educators who have taught in schools and studios worldwide.
Grant specialises in hot sculpting glass animals, usually reptiles and birds, and he was commissioned by Kugler Glass to create a glass dragon head in every one of their glass blowing colours. Grant's class will focus on using both solid and blown sculpting techniques to create animals and animal-inspired sculptures. Beginners are welcome, but they must have at least one year of glass blowing experience.
Erin specialises in flameworking glass, typically borosilicate, although she also works with furnace glass rods so that she and Grant can collaborate on projects. Students in Erin's class will learn to create botanical glass sculptures with borosilicate glass on the torch, including techniques for constructing leaves, flowers, vines, and other flora. Beginners are welcome.
All tools and materials will be provided.
Classes will run from 9am-5:30pm each day and will have no more than 6 students.
