Specialist Music Programme Gala Concerts

Coming and watch the Specialist Music Programme's Gala Concerts. These are the showcase performances for Burnside High School's SMP members for 2023. All supportive audience members welcome to any of the NINE concerts across two days and four venues.

Entry for audience is at the door at $5 per person (cash only please as there are no eftpos facilities at any of the venues). This entitles you to attend as many concerts as you like on the same day using the same ticket. SMP students – free entry to all concerts. Doors open 15 minutes before each concert starts.

Saturday 9th September

At: The Piano, Armagh St.
• 12.00pm – SMP Voice Concert
• 3.00pm – SMP Strings Scholarship Recital Concert


Saturday 16th September

At the UC Recital Room (Arts Centre, access from the quad at Rolleston Ave. end of Worcester St.)
• 12.00pm – SMP Piano Concert 1
• 2.30pm– SMP Piano Concert 2
• 5.00pm – SMP Strings Year 11 and 12 Students’ Concert

At All Souls Church, Merivale – corner of Papanui Road and Church Lane
• 12.00pm – SMP Woodwind Concert
• 3.00pm – SMP Brass Concert

At the Doug Caldwell Auditorium, ARA Music Arts:
• 1.00-3.00pm – SMP Jazz Gala Concert
• 3.00-4.00pm – SMP Jazz Student Scholarship Recitals
