NZ Opera's Open Day

Calling all opera enthusiasts – and the opera-curious too!

As we prepare for our season of Le comte Ory, touring Tāmaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Ōtautahi this May and June, we're excited to extend an open invitation to Te Ra Tūwhera, our very first NZ Opera Open Day of 2024.

We'll be throwing open the big roller door of our Parnell studios and inviting our community inside, for an exciting day of behind-the-scenes experiences.

Explore our sets and costumes, see our hair, wigs and makeup team in action, learn about the intricacies and idosyncrasies of conducting and singing for the form and get a rare glimpse at the hard, rewarding work that goes into the staging of a mainscale opera.

This is a free, family-friendly event, and all are welcome. Nau mai haere mai ki te whare o NZ Opera!
