David Trubridge Ltd

The Studio is David's creative space away from home and where he spends the majority of his time. Ideas are continually fed back and forth between him and his team of designers, becoming a space where wisps of thought and sketches on the edge of a page take shape, gather clarity and are refined, materialising into physical 3D forms.

Lead by David himself, the team includes industrial / product designers, a graphic design / storytelling department, and researchers specializing in sustainability, new materials and LEDs. Ongoing concept development is an integral element of the daily life of the studio. Prototyping and a playful approach to design merges fluidly with new product development. You will just as easily find one of the team busy with charcoal, pencils and an eraser, working in their sketchbook, as you will find someone translating these ideas into 3D CAD programs.

The Studio prides itself on its adaptability. Meetings are held here with new clients, seeking to collaborate on custom one-off commissions or more extended ranges. It is always looking for local and New Zealand based businesses which it can commandeer to assist and cater for the production of its constantly growing oeuvre. It is a place where "anything is possible"; from lighting and furniture collections to large scale installations, public art and customized pieces, flexibility and innovation are paramount to translating David's unique vision.
