Ticket Information
A man-made wetland used to capture rain runoff and reduce sedimentation flowing into the Whangarei Harbour. An example of how wetlands can be used to clean water runoff, provide a wildlife habitat and maintain biodiversity.
The wetland was developed by private landowners using their own time and funding. They collect native plant seeds from local sources and grow them to plant out in the wetland.
Volunteers are always very welcome. People interesting in visiting can phone for an appointment. Open days are held about twice a year and are advertised.
