Magic Broomstick (Segway) Tours

Have the unique experience of riding a Segway Personal Transporter an outdoor adventure that all the family can enjoy. Our experienced guides will take approx 15 minutes to teach you how to ride then you can take a guided tour around the historic seaside village of Devonport Auckland. Or for those who are just curious you can take a short ride just to experience the sheer joy of riding a Segway.

The 2 hour (includes training time) Historic Sites guided tour takes you to North Head (or Maunguika, as it was named by Maori) and the Military fort of the 1880's considered to be the most significant historical coastal defence site in the country. Explore the tunnels, bunkers and gun emplacements of this Auckland attraction. Enjoy THE most spectacular views of Auckland City, Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf from the top of this volcanic cone. It's an Awesome Segway 'glide' with a "Blast in the Park" to put the Segway through it's paces. A ride through the back streets of Devonport to admire the Victorian architecture completes the tour.

The 1-1/2 hour (includes training time) Scenic guided tour takes you to another of Devonport's volcanic cones. You'll be gob-smacked by the awesome views that appear before your eyes as you 'glide' effortlessly on your Segway to the top of Mt.Victoria (known to the Māori as Takarunga) It is the highest volcano on Auckland's North Shore rising to 87 m. Its lava flows now line much of Devonport's waterfront. You'll learn the history of the "Disappearing Gun" and the famous "painted mushrooms' and get a birds eye view of the Devonport Naval Base. Descending Mt Victoria on your Segway you can enjoy another great view of the historic village as we make our way back to the ferry terminal where Segway riders can be heard to say "I want one".

You need to be agile enough to climb stairs unaided be between 45 and 120 kilos and over 13 years of age to take a guided tour or have "A taste of Segway".

A Fun Family Ride is a 45 minute experience of riding a Segway on the green next to the Devonport Naval Base. We stop to check out the Navy Gun and the Mine outside the base. Children 10 years and over are able to have a go on this ride.

We also run team building activities and corporate events. We can accommodate team building for groups up to 30 people. We divide the group into teams and have relay races and tasks to complete all while riding a Segway. The games are timed events which result in a "Winning Team". It's a huge amount of FUN where team spirit is a must to be the champions. Contact us for detail
