Pauline Gough's Studio

Kaipara artist, Pauline Gough, is a self taught acrylic and mixed media painter. Her aim is to paint freely while enjoying each part of the process and she works quickly in order to maintain a fresh result. Her intent is to not necessarily portray with accuracy what she sees. Pauline was raised on a dairy farm north of Auckland and has been married to a dairy farmer for 26 years, hence the common theme of farm animals for her inspiration. Pauline has been painting and exhibiting prolifically since 2010 and is becoming known for her vibrant paintings. She was invited to be a feature artist in the New Zealand Artist magazine March/April 2014 edition.

She loves to work with thick acrylic paint and often paints with a knife. More recently she has also been enjoying creating smaller, framed oil pastel/ink paintings. Pauline's works are held in private collections in NZ and all over the world.

Pauline exhibits twice a year on the Mangawhai Art Trail north of Auckland (around Easter and Labour Weekend).
