Wine Circle

Chris Carrad, the owner, has worked in the wine trade for over 20 years now. He started by running large wine shops in London before he spent over 4 years as the Tastings Coordinator for WINE Magazine. In this role he organised the consumer tastings for the magazine and travelled the world trying wines and writing about them. It was here where he got the experience and knowledge to be able to bring you some of the most exciting wines in the world.

He passed the WSET Diploma exam, the pre-cursor to the master of wine, and on arrival in New Zealand, he worked in the industry here starting with a vintage at Coopers Creek in North West Auckland.

Frustrated by not being able to find a shop that could offer a great selection of wines, beers and spirits, and talk intelligently about them, he decided to do it himself. Thus Wine Circle was born. Wine Circle prides itself on it’s extensive range and knowledge of it, and they enjoy helping you with your food and wine matches as well.
