We are an artist run pottery "school" based in New Lynn, Tāmaki Makaurau. Led by Jack Tilson and Kirstal G.
We use sustainably sourced pine offcuts to fire our kiln. Our kiln is designed to burn efficiently and reduce our energy use.
The school does not use poisonous heavy metal oxides in the studio, or in the clay or in our glazes.
We make our clay onsite from locally occurring volcanic clay minerals. The clay is around 5,000,000 years old and has been transported by water from the Waitākere volcanic field.
We maintain an ecological balance by using ash from the kiln in our glazes.
