A Manawatu icon, Centrepoint Theatre offers high quality performances, staging plays that span all genres from the political and thought-provoking to straight-out hilarity with an emphasis on New Zealand work. We are particularly proud of producing New Zealand content for forty years to our audience.
Established in 1974 we are the only professional theatre between Auckland and Wellington. Our continued success can be attributed to the continuous support from our audience and sponsors. Our intention is to make theatre accessible to everyone and bring people together to gain insight, inspiration and enjoyment.
Centrepoint Theatre is also a leading light for New Zealand arts for its commitment to developing New Zealand shows and actors. Several New Zealand plays that premiered at Centrepoint Theatre have gone on to successful runs in theatres across the country.
