Old St Paul's is the jewel in the crown of New Zealand’s historic places. The church was built in 1866, and is constructed entirely from native timbers. This makes it unique, and one of the finest examples of timber Gothic Revival in the world. The glowing interior is enhanced by stunning memorialised stained glass windows and furniture telling the stories of the settlers of Wellington.

The building served as the Anglican Pro Cathedral for Wellington until 1964. No longer a parish church, but still consecrated Old St Paul's is non-denominational, and is proudly cared for by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. Today, we are serving the Wellington community for weddings, funerals, concerts, and many other cultural events.
